This Is My Company
To the Editor:
The following is the kind of letter I dearly wish to see addressed to Janet Reno by the owner of any business under her attack:
"This company is mine, not yours. The right to run this company belongs to me, not you. If my customers freely accept the terms of the deals I offer them, you have no right to dictate different terms. If people decide to accept my deals in such numbers that other firms can't compete, you have no right to force me to make such competition easier.
The success of my company is earned, not stolen. Success of my competitors through government interference would be stolen not earned. Earning more profits than other companies, or earning a larger or exclusive market share is not theft. Using the power of government to punish success or to help less successful competitors is theft.
I intend to see that as many people as possible understand that your actions against my company are criminal. You may succeed in punishing my company, but you will not succeed in disguising your hatred of success as respect for rights."
